Post-covid Update – July 7, 2021

Hello to all of you intrepid BOW women. We would like to provide an update on the status of the New Hampshire Becoming an Outdoors Woman program and what is happening as we jump start programming again. We hope everyone has been healthy and well during the pandemic.

We held three small Beyond BOW workshops over the past year, two one-day fly fishing workshops and an ice fishing workshop. Given the COVID restrictions, we held everything outside and followed strict protocols. Unfortunately, we were unable to hold our Fall event in 2020, and Winter BOW had to be cancelled last year as well.

We will be holding a one-day Fall BOW event for 45 women on September 11 this year. Registration opens July 30, 2021. All information will be posted soon. We also plan on an Introduction to Deer Hunting workshop in late September, and our Winter BOW will happen in February. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for details.

The big change we want to share is a different venue for our fall BOW weekend in September 2022. After a wonderful 25 years at Rockywold-Deephaven Camp, we will be headed to Geneva Point on Lake Winnipesaukee. We decided on Geneva Point to help keep the registration costs affordable. We believe BOW programs should be accessible to women regardless of their economic situation. We will continue to provide scholarships for our weekend-long fall BOW event and expect to have the same diversity in sessions offered as in previous years. We hope to return to Rockywold with perhaps a smaller Beyond BOW opportunity in the future. We can’t say enough good about Rockywold and please know that our move to a different camp was not due to negative circumstances, it was simply a financial decision.

The quality of our sessions and the enthusiasm of the volunteer instructors will remain high, and we look forward to continuing to connect women to the outdoors on many levels in the future. We hope to see you at our next BOW adventure!
